Results of the Team Handicap Quarter-finals:

With over half the matches played the Division One title race is hotting up with the Nomads holding a 7 point lead over their closest challengers YMCA Preachers, which makes next weeks re-arranged match between the sides very interesting.
The match between Cwmbran Colts and Blaenavon Aces was postponed.
The final match in Div. Two saw Cwmbran Fellows beat Blaenavon Bulldogs 17-12. For the Fellows Wayne Ford picked up 3 wins. For the Bulldogs Lincoln Alford and Callum Hunt won 2 matches each.
Three sides representing the Eastern Valley League recently returned from North Wales after competing in the first weekend of matches in the Veterans Team Championship of Wales. The 'A' and 'B' sides were competing in the Premier Division and the 'C' side were in Division One.

The scores were Cwmbran Eccentrics (+175) 286 - Cwmbran Colts 298.

The second placed side YMCA Preachers went down 14-18 to Cwmbran Blues in a close match. Player of the match was Mark Farrow with his 3 wins ably assisted by David D Lloyd with his 2 wins. For the Preachers Ray Goulding won 2 matches.
Division Two continues to be dominated by the Cwmbran Panthers and their latest win came over Cwmbran Eccentrics 25-5. For the Eccentrics Peter Alderson battled to gain his sides only points but the Panthers proved too strong with maximum wins for Mike Blatchford and Yuri Cherkasenko.

The new team giving chase to the Panthers are Cwmbran Dynamos who also had a comfortable win 25 - 5 against Cwmbran Eccentrics. The Dynamos' Alex Jones and Star Limbu both recorded maximum wins for their side with only Alson Limbu providing any resistance.
It was an enjoyable night of table tennis to round off the 2014/15 season and all winners and runner ups will be presented with their trophies at the League AGM on Monday 13th July at Panteg House commencing 7.30pm.
The semi-final line up saw last years 2 finalists Tony Collins and Mark Farrow contest a well fought match with Collins once again coming out on top 3 - 0. The other semi-final saw Chris Price come back from losing the first set to beat David Lloyd 3 - 1.
That concludes the League season with congratulations to Bristol Nomads and Cwmbran Panthers on winning the Division One and Division Two titles respectively. Now its the usual end of season Tournament with the Division One Singles groups and quarter-finals being held on Tuesday 21st April....
The race for the runner-up position will go down to the final match next week with the Dynamos needing to overcome a 18 points deficit to overtake Blaenavon Aces. The Dynamos final match is against Cwmbran Eccentrics whereas the Aces have completed their matches.
The winners of the Eastern Valley Table Tennis League Division One title for 2014/15 are Bristol Nomads. Therefore, congratulations to the Nomads squad of Ian Maggs, Keith Armstrong, Chris Price, Mike Bishop and Brian Reeves.
In this weeks matches in Division One Bristol Nomads all but clinched the title despite losing 12 - 21 to Cwmbran Aztecs. Cwmbran Blues have a game in hand but only have a mathematical chance of catching the Nomads.
In Division One of the Eastern Valley Table Tennis League there was one match completed from the previous week and it was an 18 - 18 drew between Cwmbran Blues and Cwmbran Aztecs. Tony Collins (Aztecs) beat Mark Farrow (Blues) to secure the draw for his team.
The other match in Division One between Cwmbran Blues and Cwmbran Colts was not completed in time with the final game being played next week.
In Division One of the Eastern Valley Table Tennis League the leaders Bristol Nomads were held 18-18 by YMCA who had the player of the match in Ray Goulding who won all his matches.
Next week sees a break from League table tennis as it is the Semi-final of the Team Handicap. The sole representatives from Division One take on Blaenavon Aces from Division Two and there is an all Division Two battle between Cwmbran Eccentrics and Blaenavon Aces.
