5th November 2019 Match Reports

 This weeks matches in Division One of the Eastern Valley Table Tennis League saw Blaenavon Aces move to the top of the Division. In their latest match they defeated North Gwent Cougars 23-12 with Ben Allen winning the player of the match with his 3 victories. Allen was well supported by guest player Abid Khan who also had 3 wins on his league debut and Iestyn Howells with 1 win. For the Cougars, there were single wins for Sam Slatter and Michal Policht. 

On the same number of points as the leaders but in second place on the basis of number of wins, are Cwmbran Blues, despite losing their latest match 16-20 to Cwmbran Preachers. Player of the match was the Preachers' Dave Lloyd with 3 wins and he was well supported by Ray Goulding with 2 wins and Claire Flannagan with 1 win. For the Blues, Jozef Sujanec and David Lloyd had 2 wins each.

In third place and with a game in hand over the leaders are Cwmbran Aztecs who beat Cwmbran Tigers 27-2. Player of the match once again was the Aztecs' Tony Collins with 3 wins and he was well supported by Andrew Ryder and Mark Edmunds, also with 3 wins each.

Leading Division Two are still Cwmbran Dynamos following their 25-6 win over third placed and a depleted Cwmbran Lions team. Player of the match was the ever improving Will Smith-Haddon with 3 wins and he was well supported by Alex Jones, also with 3 wins and Richard Lownsborough with 2 wins. For the Lions, Haydn Skinner battled bravely for his 1 win and 5 team points.

In second place and with a game in hand over the leaders are Cwmbran Eccentrics after a 25-9 win over Cwmbran Panthers. Player of the match was the Eccentrics' John Thomas with 3 wins and he was well supported by Lincoln Alford, also with 3 wins and Ian Shipley with 2 wins. For the Panthers, Yuri Cherkasenko, in his first appearance of the season, battled well for his 1 win and 6 team points.

The final match in the Division saw Cwmbran Fellows defeat North Gwent Terriers 24-4. Player of the match was the Fellows' Wayne Ford with 3 wins and he was well supported by Jacob Wicks, also with 3 wins and Alan Rees with 2 wins. For the Terriers, Joel Price had his teams only success.
